Using Today
What each section of Today means: Needs you, Today, Coming up and Older, plus the briefing and schedule on the side.
Today is the page you land on after signing in. At the top you’ll see the date, a greeting, and a one-line summary of your day. Below that, chips give you the counts at a glance: how many items need you, how many are on today, how many events are left, how many you’ve done, and how many older items are tucked away.
The sections
Needs you
The things that are waiting on you right now:
- anything due today, or overdue by up to a week,
- high and urgent priority items,
- plans and ideas friends sent you, and replies to plans you sent,
- urgent email from the last couple of days that didn’t become a card.
Overdue items come first, then things due today (by time), then things people are waiting on, then high priority. The first five show; click Show all for the rest.
Today
Everything else that’s on for today. Grayed “FYI” cards at the end are emails worth knowing about that don’t need you to do anything. On a phone, today’s calendar events are listed at the top of this section.
Coming up
The next seven days, grouped by day: events and tasks that are scheduled or due in that window.
Older
Items that are overdue by more than a week, or that nobody has touched in two weeks. They’re kept out of the way so they don’t crowd today. See Older items and Clear all.
The side column
- Briefing: your day in a few short sections, with tabs for the evening Recap and the Week in review. See Your daily briefing.
- Schedule (on larger screens): today’s events, with the next one highlighted.
- Older: how many older items are waiting, with Review and Clear all.
- Done today: what you’ve finished. Click one to open it again.
- A link to skipped email, mail that didn’t need a card.
Unfinished items carry over to the next day on their own at midnight in your time zone, so nothing falls off the list.
