How your email becomes cards

What gets a card, what is filed quietly, and why one conversation stays one card.

Every few minutes, Trillitask checks the mailboxes you’ve connected. Each new message is summarized and sorted:

  • Needs you: questions, requests, bills and deadlines become a card on Today. If the email mentions a due date, the card gets it.
  • FYI: things worth knowing that don’t need action show as grayed cards at the end of Today.
  • Filed: receipts, newsletters and other noise don’t get a card. You can still see them under Skipped.
  • Scams: suspicious messages are flagged and never mentioned in your briefing.

One conversation, one card

Replies on the same email thread join the existing card instead of making new ones. The card shows how many emails it holds (like ×3), and your phone shows one up-to-date notification for it instead of a stack. Repeat notices about the same thing (a weekly “card declined” alert, say) also roll into one card.

  • A simple “Thanks!” reply is added quietly without bringing the card back.
  • If a reply that needs you arrives within 30 days after you closed a card, the card comes back with a Reopened: notification.

Getting too many cards about something? Use Less like this to mute the thread, the sender or that kind of email.
