Earpiece: discreet spoken alerts

Leave Earpiece open and it quietly tells you when something new arrives, like “you have a shipping notification”, without ever reading the contents aloud.

Included with TrilliOne Business, Pro and TrilliOne Pro

Earpiece is like an assistant whispering in your ear. While it’s on, it announces the kind of thing that just happened: “You have a shipping notification.” “You have an urgent email.” “Your assistant added a task.” It never reads subjects, names or message text aloud, so it’s safe to use around other people.

Turn it on

  1. Open Earpiece from the sidebar.
  2. Click Activate Earpiece. The panel switches to LIVE.
  3. Leave the page open, ideally in its own browser tab, and put your headphones in.

Click Stop Earpiece to turn it off.

What you’ll hear

  • New tasks, from email, chat or text, and your reminders are always announced.
  • Other notifications are announced if they’re at or above your Priority floor.
  • Only things that arrive after you turn it on. Nothing older is replayed, and each alert is announced only once, even across devices.
  • When several arrive together, you’ll hear “Multiple new alerts.”

See what an alert was about

The Live announcement feed lists today’s alerts. Tap one to see what it was about on screen (only you can see it), or click Open in app. The replay icon says it again.

Settings

  • Voice: the browser’s built-in voice, or premium voices (Nova, Alloy, Shimmer, Echo, Fable and Onyx) if your plan includes them. Adjust Speech rate and Volume, and use 🔊 Test voice to hear it.
  • Filters: set the Priority floor from “Hear all” to “Important only”.
  • Behavior: Pause when this tab loses focus is on by default. Turn it off to keep listening while you work in other tabs.

Earpiece turns itself off when you close or leave the page, and at midnight. Reloading the page also turns it off, because browsers need a fresh click before they’ll speak. Just click Activate Earpiece again.
